2022 La Mistura – 50% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12.5% Petit Verdot 12.5% Malbec

A walk through the great vineyards of Italy and Bordeux reveal dark fruit with a bouquet of ripe red cherries from the Sangiovese, intertwining with the darker notes of blackberries, hints of chocolate and leather from the Cabernet and the lingering earthiness of the Merlot. The Malbec adds a second wave of black cherry with notes of pomegranate and molasses.  The mid-palate brings lingering bright fruit and acidity from the Sangiovese, complemented by a plush, rounded mouthfeel.  The finish is long with silky and subtle tannins.  Bring on a voyage with Cacio e Pepe and send a postcard home.
